Yes it is unfounded arguments, but the big controversy has just started. There will be two large groups of opponents acting on emotion
The fishing and hunting/ outdoor enthusiast crowd. These people tend to vote Republican for gun ownership rights
Then you have the environmentalist liberal Democrat.
Most of these folks live in the seven county metro. There are two US Senators representing Minnesota and they will attempt to appease the large numbers.
It makes it a difficult topic for a politician with a lack of intestinal fortitude. I would like to read that piece in reference to Tina Smith talking about Polymet.
