I believe that shareholders are on record as of settlement date. I got screwed out last time because I purchased shares the day before the day of record and I only got a dividend on the one share even though I had bought a bunch of other shares and held them through the record date. I’m not getting screwed this time as I purchase the shares last week before they even announced the split.
