#58577 RE: tenac #58575

My lovely bride & I were in Vegas for a few days and one afternoon in the Lounge for an evening toddy the bar tender, who is a friend of ours, was whinniing about his personal issues and just did not understand "why him"------I said to him---"you know Sal, there are times we just have to step back from it all and say ---Why Not Me-----" he went on about his work and in a few minutes came back and thanked me, he had never thought of it that way----changed his whole attitude....This also offered me the opportunity to explain that sometimes God allows stuff to land on us for a reason, I take these opportunities to just ask God---"OK, I got this mess, can you show me what to do with it?" A side note, we never know when others may see or hear what we do----the Holy Spirit works in His own way

My friends, it is all in the attitude, sometimes crap hits the fan, but there is always an opportunity for good in there....IMO, many need to learn what self-pity is and come to realize self-pity is a tool of the devil. I am now 74---almost 75 but as my dad told me many years ago, "Son, if you ever give in to self-pity the war is all but lost." Now, I like all of you are not looking for hard times to fall my way, God only knows over the years that I have had my fair share, but should they come my way my prayer is to maintain a good positive attitude and pray for strength and courage. For years I have claimed to have faith, then later in life I claim to have a very strong faith, as my time to leave this world draws closer & closer how I live out my life is in its self a testimony to family & friends. There comes a time that we stop talking the talk and walk the walk.....Living the Christian life is probably the most difficult thing I undertake, I was a very good soldier for satan for many years and he just does not want to let me go, he knows my every weakness and has no problem pulling out every stop in order to recapture me....I stumble, I fall, I get dusty, then I pick myself up, knock the dust off and carry on...not exactly Biblical, but as in 1st John. teaches me that when I stumble, fall and get all dusty, and I ask for forgiveness that I have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ & He Himself is the propitiation for my sins, not only for me but for the whole world, which means you & me....I know most of you understand but maybe there is someone hear today that does not understand, not casting stones here, but, if I may,----Advocate---translates to someone called along side to help out, a helper----you got a buddy right there with you to help you out, Jesus Christ....then....propitiation is appeasement or satisfaction,---Jesus went to and died on the cross for my sins, yours also, this met and satisfied the standards of God's holiness for the punishment of sin, mine & yours.

OOPPPS!!!!! I got to babbling on & on, we will call it a senior moment....God Bless, here in Va. at my home it is snowing, if any of you see spring, please send it my way, gets below 70 degrees I get cold
