That’s not how I see it. Sessions taking his stand will keep the fire burning in Congress to finally act on the people’s behalf. 3 more co-sponsors have signed on the H.R. 1227-ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act, since the meeting. We don’t need to go back to Obama’s Cole memo. With the wealth of evidence supporting medicinal benefits in marijuana, Congress now has a constitutional, moral and ethical responsibility to reschedule it. Sessions is forcing this issue by his stance and hopefully they grow a pair and finalize it.
I would settle for rescheduling, but the growing interest in H.R.1227 may also be increasingly doable in the near future. Look at Vermont and New Hampshire. Things could get real exciting around here soon.
