Subject: MoneyScope.com stock tracking applet - NEWS

Dear MoneyScope.com user,

In the past, you took the time to write to us about our stock tracking
applet that was located at MoneyScope.com. It has been moved to
http://www.moneyscope.com/markettracker
<http://www.moneyscope.com/markettracker>
If you'd like to know more about what's going on behind the scenes, read on:
The reason for this move and name change is that ABCNEWS.com decided to
change the name of its Business section to "MoneyScope", and to advertise
this as "moneyscope.com"... that is why moneyscope.com now redirects to the
business section.
I know you love the stock tracking applet (now called "Market Tracker") and
I have personally read and saved your feedback and suggestions. Thanks to
YOUR feedback about how much you like this little applet, we've decided to
revamp and improve it... I can't promise any delivery dates but we're hoping
to start on it sometime after October 1 and deliver an improved version
"2.0" by first-quarter 2001.
In addition to the many suggestions that we've received, we're planning on
some general design and user-interface cleanups to make it a little
friendlier, and the spot where that stale ad is in the top left-corner we
think would be a good place for a streaming-video window. This way, you
could click on a news item in one portion of the page and watch an
associated video clip while you're watching the stock market and reading the
news.
I'm still collecting suggestions for the newe version, so if you haven't
already, please email me and I will definitely read them. Perhaps at when
we're closer to development time, I can put up a poll page and everyone can
vote on their favorite features for the new version.
If you have any friends who use the applet, please fwd them this email to
let them know the latest news, I'd appreciate it!
We're still not linking to or promoting the applet from the ABCNEWS.com site
or offering official technical support for it since the engineers who
developed it no longer work here, but we've got a great new team who is
getting up to speed on everything, so with version 2.0 release we'll promote
the applet and respond to your tech support questions on it.
In case you're curious what's going on at ABCNEWS.com up until October 1,
we're in the middle of a major site look-and-feel overhaul, so everyone on
the "MoneyScope" (aka "Business section") team is busy helping with that,
and we're bringing in new personal-finance related content to deliver to
ABCNEWS.com readers.
