What I sold was a small part of my position. I'd be thrilled if it actually cost me more than what I'll gain in taxes when I repurchase in late January, as I'll have made a lot of money. In the meantime, the stock I own is currently in the black about a dime, so I doubt if I'll ever sell any more for tax benefits.
I really expect the big growth in the share price will come once it's announced that sales will commence, or have commenced anywhere in the world. I do not expect that until the safety trial ends in the first quarter, and I doubt it will come in January. I do expect we'll hear something new when the company speaks at the Wall Street Conference, but that's late February, and I'll have repurchased my shares well before then.
I agree that January should be positive for the cannabis sector because of so many State's coming on line, especially California, but the greatest growth will be in companies actually selling product. OWCP's future is in developing products and having others sell them. The beauty of what they're doing is the fact that in time their products will be sold worldwide, whereas most cannabis companies are working in specific places and will never sell to the world market. OWCP may never sell a product directly to a consumer, but with even a small royalty percentage for everything they've developed that's being sold could make far more money than any of the major cannabis companies that do sell directly to the consumers.
Studies will show how effective the OWCP products are, and I'm sure they all will have their niche, but I believe the cream will be huge for skin diseases, and the sublingual tablet will have many applications. The other products I've read about seem to me to have a lesser demand, but certainly could be money makers. I especially like the sublingual tablet because it provides an effect over a substantial period of time, whereas something like the nasal spray would be far more instantaneous.
I have no real knowledge that this is the fact, it's JMHO.
