Having lived in some extremely rural communities, I've known people who have generated their own power. I've heard first hand the complaints these people have about many of the electric utility companies not allowing the little guys to sell their excess energy into the grid.

I guess they were afraid of being decentralized. Well guess what....now it seems they have no choice!
