When Bernard Law left Boston in disgrace to reside in the Vatican he lived in opulance, albeit he had to dodge reporters whenever he left his apt.

In reading of Pope Francis's praying for the soul of the disgraced Cardinal Law
.. http://www.digitaljournal.com/news/world/pope-ignores-abuse-scandal-in-condolences-for-us-cardinal/article/510488 ..
.. the second in yours, hypocrisy of course first came to mind, which drew me to

Matthew 23:27

New International Version
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which
look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

New Living Translation
"What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed
tombs--beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people's bones and all sorts of impurity.

I'm not sure if my interpretation of those is right, yet still feel just possibly the Pope, according to the Bible, could be inviting a sprinkle of God's wrath.

Then i wondered of the validity of the idea of a soul again, and caught Robert Lanza's theory of Biocentrism

Does The Soul Exist? Evidence Says ‘Yes’
New scientific theory recognizes life’s spiritual dimension

which being basically a materialist by nature took me to this one

Biocentrism is creationism for hippies

which feels more on the mark.

Yeah, i know we aren't supposed to base much on feelings, yet it feels more valid in many cases than it is to base theories on what are basically ideas.

That is a bit much for me.
