absolutely, price will never appreciate with that many A/S . A buy back would immediately cause the share price to increase.

I don't understand the logic in a forward split. The whole idea is to get the share price at a higher level.
Many brokerage / financial institutions won't deal or sell a security under $5.00.
Open the door for a $5.00 plus stock and institutions start buying which drives the price higher and offers stability .
