Chasing nicotine and addiction is a sea change for an industry that continues to kill people. The FDA has to start somewhere but they also have to get a game plan in place. The items like gum, Chantix et al have done very little. Expecting heat not burn and vaping to do the trick is folly. I have read lots of articles by respecting researchers who say vaping will lead to cigarette smoking.

You want to get people off a particular substance then you have to make that substance unavailable. Regarding cigarettes we are talking about a massive industry with deep pockets and huge political sway. We as XXII shareholders see an easy avenue for the FDA..a common sense approach which should be instituted. Big tobacco seems reticent to make a deal with us not because it does not work but because it is going to hurt their sales and bottom line.

This process has just started. Expect the news flow to increase in Q1 2018...

I agree, this could be a "black swan" event for the tobacco industry. Historically, they seem to be moved more by bottom up pressure than top down, if the latter were the case, we'd still have MDs doing ciggie ads.
A groundswell of popular support may move this forward a lot faster than currently anticipated.
