This is a defensive maneuver because of the horrid treatment the stock has been getting at the hands of incompetent (or greed ridden) market makers. If no-one stands ready to buy the shares away from the MM's at those lower prices they're creating, they can have a field day at the expense of the shareholders. Well done Thomas! I like management that makes strong statements!
