"Fake News" is defined by the Cambridge English Dictionary as "false stories that appear to be news, spread on the internet or using other media."
IOW, if, say, a PR is issued by a company, then this is considered to be news, and anything offered as a counter or alternative to the released news, would be an opinion to a person, but viewed as fake news to those accepting the PR as published by the company. If anyone posted a legitimate PR and altered some of the words in that PR, to give it a different vision, and to make it look like and the actual PR, then that would be fake news.
Opinions exist to support other views of the truth, but they are only opinions.
