The lawsuit did not prevent previous filings. I cannot imagine why it would be the cause of delay as it could easily last for years. Filing an amended complaint slows the process down, not the opposite. Discovery has not even commenced. They may well file motions to dismiss all over again. Federal civil cases are notoriously time consuming for lawyers and typically last for years. I handled one which lasted in excess of five years. For the life of me, while I realize the impact of victory I do not understand the importance placed upon it here.
