#738 RE: Cincinnatus #736

"What is the pathway in the U.S. or the world to allow BTX to siphon off some of this $30B?"

Siphons are what we once called Oklahoma credit cards - and in America's Little Outback most of us spoke that way except for those with a brogue.

Did you never hear of expanding, even creating markets? Another company has plans to produce skin. I just skimmed the surface. BTX is planning that too but far more like perhaps some day replacing entire organs instead of just parts and pieces.

Botox has a relatively small market and doesn't do all that much from what little I know and still gets $6B.

Maybe you have seen the tv ads for a now ancient Christie Brinkley with the face of a teenie bopper? I have wondered how that face goes with variocose veins and...?

Men as well as women will pay a lot for youth and beauty. Botox gives you none of the first and little of the latter as far as I can tell. BTX is directing its energies towards more than a hopeful temporary patch job.

But you won't get those immortalized stem cells and brown fat that makes you skinny and energetic for the price of a smear of botulism with the attendant risks. Looky here at what they or their flacks say:

Botox is used to treat cervical dystonia (severe spasms in the neck muscles). It is also used to treat muscle spasms (stiffness) in the upper limbs (elbows, wrists, fingers) or lower limbs (ankles, toes). Botox is also used to treat severe underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Botox is also used to treat certain eye muscle conditions caused by nerve disorders. This includes uncontrolled blinking or spasm of the eyelids, and a condition in which the eyes do not point in the same direction.

Botox is also used to treat overactive bladder and incontinence (urine leakage) caused by nerve disorders such as spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis. It is also used to prevent chronic migraine headaches in adults who have migraines for more than 15 days per month, each lasting 4 hours or longer. This medicine should not be used to treat a common tension headache.

Botox Cosmetic is used to temporarily lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles.

My emphasis.

BTX can give you a whole new face instead of a temporary paint job - at least in theory without the threat of botulism.

JMO, young man. You do have a year, more or less, on me but it sounds like you're just a kid too.

Best, Terry
