Ok, makes sense. I also did some other reading and watched some you tube videos.
So a smart shorter who sees a stock is going to perform in time, will short it heavy to get it down and then buy what they need to cover their short, plus double let ride up and then sell, making money both ways.
Maybe that's what is being done here?
