he hadn't done it because he has 4 brokers and 2 of them wouldn't allow him to set the price too high from the selling prices so he never bothered to call the broker to manually have them place a GTC order in to take them out of availability

he called his 2 brokers that had that restriction today and he has the order in 5 minutes after close today

so he now has his shares locked from shorting
