Raptor - I just had this discussion with my doctor yesterday. The insurance companies are all over this new method of determining colon cancer. This new method has a 99.9% accuracy rate, where the Gold Standard colonoscopy is 100% accurate.
This new method only identifies whether there are polyps. If there are, you would need the colonoscopy. The difference in the price is huge to the insurance companies. The new method is $500 vs. a colonoscopy costs $2,000.
Do you know whether there are other companies that are just getting into this new process/procedure?
