Why did GHWB have to break a promise and raise taxes? Because his predecessor cut taxes by so much under the same pretext of “ oh , it will trickle down and ultimately create more Govt revenue “pp . This was coined as “ voodoo economics “ by Reagan’s then opponent , GWHB, and his opponent was proven correct.
