That depends on each persons individual tolerance. To some $100 may be a lot and others $2000 may be tops. On those bids, often times those "10k" blocks are really much larger but just show as 10k which to me is a scam and I have always argued how wrong that is. As for me, I usually put $300-700 into these things but do at times put a higher amount if it is something I think is gonna fly. I've put a few thousand into a few here and there. Again, it is each persons tolerance. Just like at a casino. Some people top out at a limit of $100 and others think nothing of spending $1000 while there.
