Yes, that would give some form of information.
Not good but it would justify a dropping share price.
Always get in front of the numbers.
ALWAYS.
$500 in an opening weekend would mean that this won’t work as a business.
That’s barely 100 cups of tea sold.
But what if it was sold out?
Shelves are empty and Sodexo is reordering after initial weekend?
Then SP goes up on SALES NUMBERS.
Yes it can go either way.
But back to Apple, if they didn’t release opening weekend numbers (say on the 8 sales numbers which were horrid) then they could get in front of it and reverse the trend with priming the market for the X release.
So if numbers are bad - release them with corrective information on how it’s going to be changing.
If good - release them with the added reorder numbers and keep going in the same direction.
This isn’t a different way from ANY other companies that have sales numbers do it.
