Of course, commission is split, sometimes even lowered by the consent of both parties, nothing is written in stone, all is negotiable. This is how good Realtors operate, we keep both clients best interests at the top of the list, I'd rather keep my reputation clean and make less money on one transaction then try to make it all on one deal. I'd rather have 3 closings than one. I have given thousands in commission to help the buyer and seller over the years, it's not about greed, it's about the quality of service and protecting both the buyer and seller through astute contract negotiation and skill.
