fUNNY STORY NOW , BUT NOT THEN.
As Asst Chief one of my duties was to ensure drug testing was fair and random. Every time the computer software based system did a run ,I had to check the names with a rep from internal affairs and a rep from the police union.
One day the run was made and my name came.
Test has to be preformed upon notication by third party lab.
Results came back. I TESTED POSITIVE FOR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE .
CHIEF OF POLICE NOTIFIED AND ASKED FOR AN EXCLAMATION , WHICH I had
none.
FYI another police officer previously had tested positive for cannabis
and was fired !!!! His father was 2nd in command of the police dept.
As they were about to suspend me , my secrty came forward crying saying it was her fault. A few days prior to the test I had a headache and my sevtry gave me one of her aspirin which turned out to be a RX by her physican.
Lab confirmed and I was put back on duty .......
