Unfortunately the Chinese have been known to seize other company's assets in the past. Or they've bought out a company, publicly traded or not and closed the operation down completely screwing over anyone who was involved. There is no recourse to that besides filing the loss on your taxes. Dealing with China an enterprising communist country is a version of russian roulette, you never know what they will do.
