You are right the past matters. But only in context to the present.
Like the china money. Important because in the present we could use it. So as a shareholder you want to make sure it's in court so present management is making sure to maximize your money.
But that is all that matters.
It doesn't matter at all in context of investment.
If they win it's years away. That money won't come into play for years, if ever.
The current management can lose you far more than you stand to gain in court before court is ever in session.
Like the "billions" lost to shareholders for a few bucks in the Potts deal.
What may or may not be gained in court should not effect your present opinion.
