Dry Bulk FFA: Capesize Market Could be Set for Further Gains
in Dry Bulk Market,International Shipping News 24/10/2017

Capesize FFA Commentary:
The Coaltrans conference and the half term school holidays took a significant number of traders out the market but this did not stop the buying enthusiasm from those remaining. Early physical news produced talk of 8.50 & 8.65 fixing which was shortly followed up by rumours of Spartacus (179 dwt built 2011 dely HK) fixing for short Pac round at $25750- $26000. Although the indices did not make substantial gains the FFAs remained firm over a quiet afternoon.
Panamax FFA Commentary:
It was a lethargic opening to the week on Panamax paper with levels steady and range bound through most of the day. A few more bids were evident towards the close but the curve remains largely unchanged from last weeks close with a flat index doing little to entice otherwise.
Supramax FFA Commentary:
A very quiet day to open the supramax paper week with very little to report throughout the day. The market continued to sit in the range we witnessed at the close of last week. Hopefully we can see a more active day tomorrow in order to kick start the week.
Handysize FFA Commentary:
Another quiet day for the handysize paper. No reported trades. Have a good evening.
