To add to your post, I offer the following update ;-)

Facebook Messenger adds PayPal P2P payments
20 October 2017

Send money to friends and family in Messenger with PayPal — PayPal — “We’re excited today to announce an expansion of our relationship with Facebook with the addition of PayPal as a funding source for peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, right in Messenger… We are also introducing our first-ever PayPal customer service bot for Messenger, so PayPal customers can seamlessly receive payment and account support directly in the app.”

Do you believe? I most certainly do... :-)

Rocket (and all):

You should notice a recurring theme throughout all industries. Most behemoths in their industries announced the launch of these applications back in approx 2013/2014, yet we rarely saw them in implementation. McDonald's was one of the few exceptions.

However, today we again hear the term "launch" used with each of these behemoths, with the exception the applications have truly launched and are burgeoning across the globe.

My explanation for this is...BETA TESTING (while simultaneously awaiting new enabling software that would eventually be integrated). IMSO these apps have been beta tested since their original launch announcements (launches which had been performed in specific and limited target markets), then tweaked, modified, combined, and updated with additional and/or more efficient tools, and are now formally relaunching across the entire globe.

It has been my long term view these applications were never intended for mass market in their early years. For example, PayPal had announced QR code payments in approx 2013, yet I had not found so much as a single hint of its use in any area I'd travelled to. TODAY, however, it is EVERYWHERE...including on FACEBOOK.

In fact, the 2017 Super Bowl became a FIRST for PayPal, in which they launched their first ever television add...pertaining to the future of money! ;-)

Do YOU believe? I most certainly do... :-)
