I like your posts especially this old one: "Dangerous idea [to put relative in a stock]. When it takes a dip, and he panic sells, then he will blame you forever."

Not only will he blame you forever -- and maybe even into the afterlife -- but you won't get a morsel of credit if the investment prospers.

Affinity investing was the rage when these boards launched in the Dot Com days. Often co-workers spread stock tips at the workplace. I remember one poster who sucked his boss into a scam stock, and another who convinced his Mother in Law to dump most of her savings in an utterly transparent Chinese fraud.

Hard to believe, but investors were even dumber 20 years ago. Cheap online investing was a catastrophe for 1990s newbies.
