I have no idea why sales have begun to rebound. With their odd mix of businesses it's tough to speculate where the strength has been, in the absence of PRs:

American Biltrite has three operating divisions; the Tape Products Divisions (pressure sensitive adhesive tapes), American Biltrite Canada Ltd (flooring and industrial rubber), and K&M Associates L.P. (jewelry and fashion accessories).

I doubt they'll ever pay a dividend as long as the asbestos liability is out there. On that front, there has been some good news in the last year or so. The total liability was about $42M for several years, however they've knocked it down to about $38.5M as of 6/17. Against that liability they have an asset of about $20M called "insurance receivable for asbestos & environmental liabilities".
