Sorry to hear that Bull....I sold and installed American Standard the last 15 years I had my business....not once did I have to replace a coil or blower in any unit I sold...and I sold/installed a lot of units.
I have one on my house..3.5 ton 14 SEER unit...it is 15-17 years old and the only thing that has gone out on it is the run capacitor.
Morning Bull. Is Carrier still a good brand. I have a through the wall unit that I bought the year my child was born. That was 18 years ago. I've never done a blessed thing to the a/c and it still blows ice cold.
But I read that they are firing Americans and moving the production to Mexico.
What would you recommend as it's eventual replacement. Unlike yours, mine only runs during summer and the end of spring and early fall. And even then, that's only when the humidity is bad as I have a whole house fan too.
