I don't know why you are saying this. They(ND)locked up medical uses. Had they not done that, then maybe we don't use another gene editing tool to accomplish DS. DS is what ensured MS's doom if this was the plan. How long was that leash? Did Kim ask for medical rights and was he refused? You couldn't know what you don't know. If you know more and can't say then say so, but don't let what you don't know, sculpt your opinion. I have to roll with what we are doing and the plan from here on.
I am incredibly grateful for all Notre Dame did, but it was bought and paid for. It cost us many shares of dilution to maintain the relationship over many years. Was the research and what Dr. Fraser did appealing to potential students? Who wanted to part ways? Is Notre Dame still a shareholder? I don't think there is any IP protection on DS so maybe a race is on. We have the DoD, more than one medical firm, apparel interest, major head start on 1 silk producing country and interest in 2 others, and who knows what other interests. It is a good head start.
Bottomline, Kim is most certainly not the only party, we do not know if the divorce is his brainchild,(see jazz710's post 127188, though not entirely focused on industry) and so how does he feel about us?
What if....
What if we are a M&A candidate? What if Kim has perfectly good reason to move to a higher exchange? What if any agreement calls for this separation from ND? What if he is being "guided" by this entity? How would he feel about us under this scenario? I get a kick out of folks thinking they are looking at the entire loaf of bread. when the way people complain(including me) we act like we only get the crust. You get the point....and hopefully for more than 5 minutes. I could be way off on this hunch of mine, but I may not be either.
There are a good number of carrots floating around, to put this all together. These carrots only make sense to me with this line of thinking.
If todays PR had simply said we are looking to hire geneticists, I would have been very disappointed. The bit on going to Nam, well that should be a kick in the seat of your pants. Get the import license and change the world.
