Um, no, selling shares is NOT throwing away hard-earned money. It's called SAVING your hard earned money - a least, what's left of it. This is the fundamental principle by which Warren Buffet made his fortune.
HE DIDN'T LOSE MONEY.
What you just described WOULD BE throwing away hard-earned money. If your shareholder hangs on to his shares, the "beast" would take even MORE because eventually the shareholder's postion would be worth about $5.00.
