Just curious how they knew it was Purisol? Aren't they not supposed to know?

I also find it odd that she was told it was Prurisol especially it being a double blind trial.

Although she could have searched clinical.trials.gov and have found it.

But why did you wait 2 weeks before sharing,..?

Simply by searching the clinical trails.gov:

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?cond=Psoriasis&term=&intr=Oral+Tablet+&cntry1=NA%3AUS&state1=&Search=Search&phase=1

I searched for: Plaque Psoriasis, USA, Texas, Oral and got only 3 hits,.. one of which was Prursisol.

Not hard to find and eliminate the other drugs,..

Great anecdote. Certainly could justify the actions of the hypothetical investor.

These things might be interesting as well for others doing research:
"Two months ago I put a query out on a psoriasis support site, if anyone was in the Prurisol trial and if so what they thought about the treatment. Two weeks ago I got the first reply, she said her Mom had been in the trial in San Antonio and had done great."

A link to the support site?
The "first reply" comment was interesting. Did you get other replies?
Some people seem surprised that the patient knew what drug they were given. Are you? When you put out your query did you provide background info that might have enabled readers to RELIABLY make the Prurisol connection?

Good stuff.

Now that it's a fact no Prurisol interim in the third quarter, perhaps this post should be a sticky? Can you imagine if it turned out the lovely lady was on the placebo? Heartbreaking.

Nerby, was this your message in the support site:"Wondering if any readers have perhaps been involved in the Phase IIb clinical trial for Prurisol in about 33 locations across the US. If yes can you advise your impressions of the treatment? Thanks!"

Why are you so quiet, after a post like that, it would be helpful to answer any follow up questions,... where is your empathy,...?

Nerby, thanks a lot for sharing! This anecdotal evidence (if true) doesn't surprise me since Phase 2a gave us a glimpse of the efficacy. In the 200 mg arm, 10.7% in the ITT population and 15% in the PP population achieved clear skin (IGA 0). Very happy for the patient after suffering psoriasis for 20 years.

nerby: These results cannot be kept quiet for long.

Two months ago I put a query out on a psoriasis support site, if anyone was in the Prurisol trial and if so what they thought about the treatment. Two weeks ago I got the first reply, she said her Mom had been in the trial in San Antonio and had done great. She said that she also had psoriasis and was hoping to get in the trial but they weren't taking people anymore. I asked more questions. The Mom answered, she had had terrible lesions on her elbows and neck and buttocks for years, had tried every cure imaginable, prescription and homeopathic and diet change, all failed, she was despondent. Four weeks after taking her first Prurisol pill she no longer had the urge to tug at her lesions. Six weeks after she was in Galveston in a bathing suit and was sure the patches were shrinking, she said it was "like watching the tide go out". Nine weeks after she cried at herself in the mirror. She finished the trial two months ago and has had full clear skin since; she's begged the folks at the trial site for a supply of Prurisol for her daughter but they've told her there's nothing they can do, they'll let her know if there's another trial or if the drug becomes available later. For the last twenty years she's never lived a day without psoriasis, she thinks Prurisol is a miracle and she is blessed, and she was so happy to talk about it, and then there were lots of emojis.

So that's it, now we all already know that Prurisol cures psoriasis.

Jhawker posted and I agree 100%

Remember they made 3 significant changes to the Phase 2b Prurisol trial.

1. 50% and 100% increase in dose
2. Different/ easier patient population
3. Different/ easier scoring system.

Good luck and GOD bless,

George

nerby ... Please give a link to the psoriasis support site you used to put out your query? I've searched a couple of the major sites and can't seem to find it. I'm hoping other patients have chimed into that discussion by now.
