Short answer is yes less ports are better and of course 1 is as low as it goes. The less incisions the better and also beneficial for the patient from a psychological standpoint. The problem with single port surgery is there has never been instrumentation advanced enough to make it practical or to allow more complex procedures to be performed through single port. I believe the ISRG SP has not been adapted on a large scale because the instrumentation isn't quite good enough. Same with Surgibot, which I tried at a demonstration.
I have seen SPORT in person and believe they have created instrumentation with the dexterity, strength, flexibility and range of motion to make single port the preferred technique for a large number of cases and specialties.
Also appears to be an easy learn for surgeons.
I say this with over 20 years of minimally invasive surgery experience as a CST. My job is to know surgery and surgical instrumentation so I think I have a good grasp of what will work well.
