I'm no economy professor, but if do sanction China we are in troubles way bigger than DOLV. It would send the global economy to a screeching halt which is something massive corporations will lobby with full force to stop. I wouldn't worry about the macro economic impact. It would be world war 3 to pick on China, the largest economy.
