Work similar to this was done back in the 1960s by a guy named Cleve Backster, an interrogation expert with the CIA. You can read more about it at the following wikipedia link.

Hey basserdan-

This reminded me of an article I read years ago on an experiment.

I group of plants were put in a kitchen and hooked up with electronics to measure responses to stimuli. On the stove was a pot of boiling water. One man came in and dropped a handful of live shrimp into the boiling water. The plants gave off a reaction of some kind, I know not what kind. Afterwards various individuals went into and out of the kitchen. There was no reaction from the plants until the man that dropped the shrimp into the boiling water entered the kitchen. The plants reacted to him and him only. Don't know the science behind it but I'll never forget it.
