1. The point of the article was when losers write history. In the case of the south they happen to be revisionists. They fought for states rights and they put up statues as sons or daughters of the Confederacy honoring their heroes for fighting for their rights in a noble cause.
I think everyone knows that is pretty much BS.
2. It took 7 months to ratify the 13 amendment because back in the day they didn't have Twitter.
fuagf: I have never said slavery was right. In fact I strongly believe it was wrong. Having said that I still think the war was not based on the slave trade. If you look at history ever race has been a slave to another race. It's a age old problem.
