I suspect that he still has loads of shares, warrants, and/or options and is now going to sit back and let someone else micromanage the project.

It has been a bad year for the share price but the valuation is even more compelling now. They continue to hit high grade ore in exploration drilling. I don't know of a better property to market cap currently. Time will tell I suppose. They are currently my largest position so I will be following their story closely.
