That is funny, I have heard that story before on another stinky pinky.

In reality, however, many land owners whom have leased the mineral rights to one group have actually sold the surface rights. Some for wind turbines (wind farms), others for farming. In some cases all. It is not out of the realm of reality.

For instance, I have a client who leased the mineral rights to one group and the surface rights to a wind farm. Another client who leased to two entities farming and wind farm on surface rights.
