It was greatly improved in 2015 and new patent applications were filed.

Unfortunately it is a patent to protect probiotic bacteria from stomach acid, while transiting through. With the implication of "engineered degradation". Something desirable to release the probiotic bacteria out into the small intestine. And it has nothing to do with the the now expired patent PMCB licensed.

Note also Kenny explicitly claimed in a PR, it was PMCB that was renewing an expired patient on ciab- which can not happen. Once a patent has expired, it can't be renewed. Also Austrianova was the holder, not PMCB.
