I don't know about Sessions drinking but I'm positive he hates weed.
If you know your history, you'll know that Hemp was the cash crop for the 13 Colonies and farmers were required to grow hemp on at least 10% of their property. If you dIdnt grow hemp you went to jail! How's that for a switch these days?
Hemp was and still is, a panacea for the the colonist and early Americans. Food, fuel for lamps, oil for cooking, clothing, sails and rope. Plus of course medicinal. George Washington loved nothing better than to smoke a pipe of hemp in the afternoons. Thomas Jefferson was a vocal advocate for hemp and its many uses Hemp and Marijuana are illegal today because it cannot be patented or monopolized. Hemp was a direct threat to. If Oil, Big Paper, and of course Big Pharma.
A great book to research would be "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" by Jack Herer. Plenty of info on marijuana prohibition on the Internet though. Look it up.
