public statues of and monuments to (and namings after) Confederate leaders are really the point, the rub (in particular given that most were put in place only decades after the war, during and as explicit symbols of the heights of the Klan and Jim Crow eras from the late nineteenth into the early twentieth century) -- not headstones or other cemetary monuments, nobody with any status or backing is venturing there -- or family names or any other such that, among other things, are nobody else's damned business, for that matter
