I think the oil plunge is very simple - hedge funds.
They have been the ones jacking it up. Now, they're all bailing at the same time. Amaranth's natural gas debacle scared these guys and they don't want to be the last ones holding the bag.
It's kinda like the real estate market. All fluff, no fundamental support.
