makesumgravy, i am from the dallas area, lived there 25 years before moving to NYC .. i am actually going to san antonio this coming november .. i have never been there and want to check it out .. i am thinking about moving there when i leave colombia .. i thought i was only going to be here 6 months, but i am still here and looks like i will be here for awhile .. no i did not speak spanish when i arrived but now i am speaking ok .. not perfect but do ok .. in regards to visiting the mines .. no i do not plan to visit segovia .. even if redsky invites me to go .. i do not go places where i am afraid to drink the water .. in medellin i drink tap water .. i'll stick around here .. i have seen pictures and take peoples word for it that there are mines out there .. everyone i talk to here knows about segovia and the mines ..
