OT: Punkle thanks for response. Recalls always engineered by opposition though. The fact that this looks to be successful should say to all that the "People" are speaking and recall opposition in this case must respect the voters and not simply return to blaming opposition no matter who they are. we will all have the answers very soon. Good Luck1

If the recall law is a bad one, why not fight to get it repealed? At least make your arguments based on facts and issues and not by attacking the guy who got the ball rolling. If there was not a lot of public backing for the recall, Issa could never have taken it this far, and he most certainly did not do so single handedly. In a very liberal state like California, Republicans (even car thieves) can do nothing by themselves -- had democrats not joined in the recall effort it would have died an early death.

I like the general idea of a recall, but think it should be limited to cases of malfeasance, illegal actions, or gross incompetence but I guess it could be argued that Davis falls in the final category, at least. Personally, I would not support Arnold, opting instead for a true conservative to do what is needed to turn things around in the state. The problem there, as in Washington, is that both sides will not stop playing partisan politics long enough to try to solve the complex issues that are crushing the state.
