It's possible the shorts jump on it first.

In the past, IMHO, they have jumped on the open with a large number of shares to start the day in the red. With that said, I do not think it will stay in the red as buyers and longs take advantage of the opportunity to buy more, but it may give the short holders an opportunity to cover some.

If the short position still remains (and I think at least a majority of them do), with today's volume, they would still need at least 2 more days to cover if the volume stays the same.

It will be interesting to watch.
