My laptop is hooked up to two large monitors, mechanical keyboards and logitech mice at home and in the office. So my work environment is the same whether I'm in the office or at home. If I'm out and about, working from a coffee shop or somewhere else, then my work environment is the same as well.

I don't need to replicate my work environment on multiple desktops and copy files around and synchronize them between desktops. And my system stays up when the power goes out.

My office gives employees a choice of a Lenovo laptop or a MacBook Pro. You have to fill out special paperwork if you want a desktop. They also provide keyboard, mouse, other accessories and external displays. I'm sure that our company understands that they could pay less for desktops but it appears that the value proposition favors laptops.

Recognize the green and white book under the left monitor?

Do you actually do anything with your computer or just admire it?
