If Boone Group were to buy them out then pretty much yes, you could kiss any chance of a US DOD contract (depending on sensitivity) goodbye. With them being so heavily invested though... honestly too hard to tell. I'm sure the major players involved were vetted already otherwise they would not have been invited to the SOCOM event. However, with the huge potential in China for PV, it could be a good thing for the company overall.

With a China company (HKBG) that is so heavily invested in ASTI,
could that dissuade the US government from using ASTI?

Chinese companies like ASTI are usually not the preferred vendor by US Government.

This is probably why ASTI has been unable to sell anything to them
