WRONG AGAIN, JACK! All the increase in short interest means is there are more shares (people, institutions, whatever) are gambling that there will be a decreasing price that they hope to be able to get out of before a significant upturn in the pps. You obviously got nervous about your short position and bailed. Apparently the increase in "short interest" did not influence you to maintain YOUR short position! Perhaps you see the writing on the wall about what will happen in this record 3rd quarter! If you covered and made a few bucks, good for you!

Oh and by the way, JACK! Continuing to maintain a smaller short position and then buying long shares basically just gives you a wash of course depending on whether the short and long shares are the same. The only winner in that silly game is the broker!
