They picked up the info from EPGL's PR of that time on the "proposed" buyout.

Why assume no one else has contacted them?

I suggest folks contact them and ask the source of the info directly rather than believe the report of someone who may, or may not, have actually contacted them and/or accurately reported what they said...

anything whose source is EPGL alone is most likely "fake news"..
