I was not talking about token purchases.

I agree, there should be compensation directly connected to employee contributions to the success of the organization.

If I received non-vested compensation in the form of stock from an organization I worked for, I would not as concerned about losing income I technically never had.

I would however be more concerned about the money I used to purchase stock with my salary either through the company purchase program or on the open market and felt the loss along with the rest of the investors, if the company failed to perform.

I would assume that would be the same for most insiders.
